“No individual has any right to come into the world and go out of it without leaving behind him distinct and legitimate reasons for having passed through it.” George Washington Carver
George Washington Carver was absolutely right when he said this! If we don’t know our purpose all we are doing is floundering around, only doing what we are told or expected to do instead of fully living our lives. Here’s the question though. How do you KNOW your purpose?
#1 Let yourself dream
This is where it all starts, daydream… fantasize about what it would like to be a rockstar, a celebrity, a business giant, anything that tickles your fancy and puts a smile on your face.Maybe you’ve always wanted to be a famous writer, let that scenario play out in your mind.
#2 Think about what you really LOVE to do
My guess is it is one of the things you were dreaming about in #1. If you have a talent for something, a hobby, anything you are passionate about… EXPLORE IT! This may be your true calling. Perhaps you already had a clue but never pursued it because you were focused on doing what you “should”. (see #4)
#3 Consider the kind of people you want around you
Think about the kind of people you want in your life. What kind of friends do you want to spend time with? What kind of girlfriend/boyfriend would be your true soulmate? (If you are single) Would you want to marry? Once you know what you are looking for you will start to gravitate towards the right people. Be yourself around them, express yourself in the moment and let your life passion shine through.
#4 Stop doing what you “should”
This is the number one thing that stops people from living their destiny! This is what has held me back for so long but It has finally sunk in. Most of our parents and the society we live in has beaten it into our heads the we have to go to college, start a “real” career and get married. Well if that happens to be your purpose in life and what makes you truly happy then great. BUT YOU DON’T HAVE TO! You are free to pursue your dreams! Of course this doesn’t mean completely neglecting your responsibilities. You may still have to make certain sacrifices in life, but make pursuing your purpose a top priority.
#5 Use your intuition
Trust your intuition and let it guide you. Start living from your heart, not your head. You have all that you need inside. Use your own internal compass and fully live your life to the fullest!
